Polar Bear Plunge COVID Notice
A note from our Lead Organizer:
We will be doing everything possible to ensure that 2021 Plunge proceeds safely with respect to COVID-19. We will follow all federal, provincial, municipal and local health unit protocols in place at the time. Accordingly, if needed we may implement the following precautions:
limit the number of people plunging at a time to one or two, or households
not allow spectators
registration and changing area risk management for plungers
cancel the breakfast and entertainment
However, if on January 1st 2021, we are in a serious "second wave" situation, and if the above precautions are inadequate, we will switch to a modified "ice-bucket challenge". As a result, registered plungers will do a version of the plunge safely at home. In that "second wave" scenario, if there is a clear and demonstrated emergency community need, we will consider diverting some, or all of the proceeds to that need.
So, let's hope for the best and plan for the worst. Stay tuned - we'll keep updating as conditions and regulations change.
