how do I register to plunge?
Click the link below to register as a plunger through the Canada Helps website. This will allow you to reach out to all your family and friends anywhere in the world, and have them make an on-line donation to LCCJ in your name!
The Polar Bear Plunge is an annual event held on January 1st to raise money for local charities. It takes place at 10am in the Tay River, next to the Perth Legion, where participants jump into the river to raise money for local charities.
The Perth Polar Bear Plunge has been going for 27 years and supports a different community group each year. To date, the Polar Bear Plunge has raised over $340,000.
Plungers arrive at the Perth Legion early on January 1st
There is a breakfast (free for plungers)
Plungers bring in any pledges not collected online
Plungers sign a waiver
There is a safety briefing at 9:45
People start plunging at 10 am!
Tips for PLUNGERS
Wear water shoes, sandals or old running shoes
It's best to plunge in just a bathing suit - t-shirts make it colder when you get out wet!
Bring a bathrobe or towel
START A CHALLENGE!
Ideas for Challenges:
If you are plunging, challenge a friend to plunge, and see who raises the most money.
If you have registered as a team, challenge a competing group, business, or family.
