Perth Polar Bear Plunge Goes Home A number of very recent developments have made it impossible to safely hold even a modified Perth Polar Bear Plunge this January 1st at the Perth Legion. In addition to rapidly rising COVID19 rates locally and provincially, the Perth Legion Branch 244, who is effectively the host, has had to close until the New Year. This means that plungers will be encouraged to do some sort of plunge in the safety of their homes. Some examples could include an “ice-bucket challenge” plunge, or getting into a bathtub of ice water, or standing in the shower for 10 seconds with the water on full cold. Or come up with your own creative “plunge” - maybe a prolonged roll in the snow. So rest assured, the plunge is still happening, and you can still continue to donate, with the money all going to support the great work of Lanark County Community Justice. Just go to www.commjustice.org Visit our Canada Helps page for donation options and a complete list of individuals and teams that have registered to plunge:
Want to support LCCJ at this event, but don't know anyone who is plunging? Why not pledge our fearless Executive Director, Joellen McHard (a first time plunger) or Alfred Von Mirbach, our lead organizer, who is running an exciting new Double Dip Dare challenge!
