Join us for a presentation by award-winning authour and TedX international speaker Shannon Moroney, MA RSW. Shannon will speak about the impactful world of restorative justice and how advocacy can serve as a bridge to understanding and reconciliation in communities. Shannon highlights her experiences as an advocate and the successes of restorative practices in various settings. Audiences will leave equipped with insights into how they can actively participate in and promote justice and healing in their own communities and beyond. Lanark County Community Justice is hosting two talks by Shannon during Victims and Survivors of Crime Week 2025. All are welcome: Professionals who work with victims/survivors of crime, parents, caregivers, student councils, educators, municipal representatives, justice service providers (police, legal, crown) and victim/survivor service providers and victims and survivors of crime and those who have been impacted by crime. | The FULL Perth Polar Bear Plunge has been suspended until Jan. 1st 2022 for LCCJ due to the recent COVID-19 lockdown. Except... On New Year's Day 2021 at 11am, our very own Executive Director, Joellen McHard, will be getting a bucket of ice water dumped on her head by her family for the "Keep the Spirit Alive 28th Annual Perth Polar Bear Plunge in support of Lanark County Community Justice via Facebook Live Stream. Stan Monroe from the Perth Legion will be doing the same form home and long time plunger, David Lavery, will take the plunge in his pool all the way in Kabul, Afghanistan!
